Game Day Fashion Guide

FullSizeRender (2) Football season is quickly approaching and that means it’s time to prepare to look our best! At many big schools, game days are opportunities to display your most fashionable, school spirited outfits. Many girls who attend SEC schools are known for wearing rompers, sundresses and personalized accessories in school colors. While there are many online shops and boutiques that sell pieces specifically for these events (links below), the girl who really stands out is able to cheer her team on while looking effortlessly chic.

This cobalt blue romper from Macy’s is the perfect canvas for a game day outfit. The straps provide support and coverage so you can focus on the game, but the deep v-neckline and braided back detailing add intrigue.

I chose to pair the romper with nude sandals. Even though game days are about dressing up, all the walking from tailgates to the stadium can be hard on your feet. These sandals are comfortable and subtle so that the focus is on the orange and blue!

To personalize this outfit, I added a bright orange fringed necklace with tiny elephant details that I bought from a market in Khaosan Road in Thailand. Even though I’m uniting in color with my Gator family, personal pieces make the outfit stand out from the crowd.

For the at least the first part of the football season here in Florida, the weather often still feels like summer. Keeping this in mind, it’s important to find a beauty look that will last. Simple is safest, so avoid bright lipsticks that could easily smear or melt. Waterproof products and setting sprays are other safeguards to help keep everything perfectly in place. I typically stick to a tinted moisturizer, blush, mascara and a tinted lip balm or lip stain. For hair, I would recommend sticking with what your hair will hold best. If curls fall out within an hour, your best choice may be to straighten it. There are also many options for university-inspired headbands and hats that could help keep your hair tamed if it doesn’t react well to heat or humidity.

Once you’ve found your perfect look, you can focus on cheering your team on to victory alongside your friends!
