What to Wear: End-of-Summer BBQ Party

As we wrap up summer and hit our last cookouts and BBQ parties, we continue to show off some chic and summery ensembles. If you’re eating delicious food and catching up with family and friends, why not look fab, right? With that being said, a polished, yet breezy and fun, outfit is totally perfect for a cookout or an end-of-summer soirée!

Cookout Outfit

To start off this outfit, I chose this flowy, crinkly top (similar) from Forever 21. The top of the shirt buttons around the neck, but I wanted the shirt to appear more relaxed and extra flowy, so I left the top unbuttoned. Also, I just love this soft champagne color. The top’s golden undertones bring out summer’s sun kissed hair and skin, but the color is so light and feminine that it really polishes off an outfit, no matter what the top is paired with!

However, I decided to pair this top with black lace-trimmed shorts from H&M. Although white lace is a major fashion trend this summer, why not take a dramatic, chic twist on it? After all, a hint of black goes perfectly with just about anything!

Cookout Outfit

Summertime is also the perfect time for sandals, especially my favorite—gladiator sandals! There are so many different styles, colors, and lengths, but I just love these snake skin embossed leather Vince Camuto sandals (similar). The scaly sandals complement the lacy shorts, adding a chic and eye-catching variety of texture to the outfit.

Cookout Outfit

I wanted to add just a splash of color to my outfit, so I slung this red bag (similar) that I found at a local thrift store over my shoulder! The bag also has gold accents and a gold chain, which pairs nicely with the top and jewelry! I love wearing bold red in the summer, but you can also try bright pink or electric blue for a fun pop of color!

Cookout Jewelry

For jewelry, I wanted to continue the gold theme flowing throughout the ensemble. I just love wearing dangly earrings for evening get-togethers, so I chose these gold drop earrings (similar) from Francesca’s. I then decided to go easy on the arm candy and slipped a gold and cream Kate Spade bangle (similar) on my wrist and BAM! The finished product is perfect for evening get-togethers or cookout parties with friends and families!
