Can’t Decide between Leggings and Jeans? Try Jeggings!

As basic as jeans can be, each year there seems to be a new way to reinvent this American classic. This year, denim leggings (or as some like to call jeggings) caught my eye. There are two ways I like to classify jeggings: “denim based” and “legging based.” While they are the same for the most part, they can create completely different looks.

J. Crew’s new store, Madewell carries jeggings, which are more like leggings rather than jeans. The great thing about these is that they are just as comfortable as regular spandex leggings, yet they provide a more classic look than leggings. When wearing these, it is key to remember to always wear a longer shirt or sweater.

My roommate (a Delta Gamma) and I both wearing our favorite jeans: Citizen’s of Humanity Avedon Super-Stretch Denim Leggings

“Jean based” leggings are the perfect jeans for this summer (and I know these will also be great during the school year). Since they look and feel more like jeans, they can be worn with just about anything and still have the same comfort level of leggings. My personal favorite is the Citizens of Humanity Avedon Super-Stretch Denim Leggings. They fit like a glove, and barley stretch throughout the day!

Overall jeggings are a great innovation for us sorority girls. They allow us to look classy and put together (instead of wearing worn out spandex leggings). Most importantly, you can find them just about anywhere at any price point!

Have you been wearing jeggings? Which is your favorite style?
